How do I review my account history?
Click on the
Activity Summary tab, which will display your account history totals (market value, shares, etc.) for any query period of one year or less. For a more detailed breakdown of your account history, click on any item listed within the history to see details of each transaction within the query period. You may also download a file - reflecting activity during a given 60-day period - to Quicken or Microsoft Money. (With Quicken you will need to use a cut-and-paste method for transferring data, the steps for which are listed in the
Activity Summary portion of the Help Guide.)
How do I change my current investments?
If you are a participant in the Investment Choice plan, using the functions in the
Request Transfers area will allow you to change your current investments. The
Interfund Transfer function lets you transfer a percentage of your investment in one fund into another fund or funds. You may choose to request identical interfund transfers across all exchange types (sources) on a single day by selecting All from the menu. If you choose to request different interfund transfers for the same investment within each exchange type (source), the requests can be entered on the same day.

The
Account Realignment function lets you rebalance your entire portfolio. (If you are realigning employer investments differently than employee and/or after-tax voluntary investments, these realignments can be done on the same day.)
How do I change the investment instructions for my future contributions?
If you have an Investment Choice plan and would like to change how your future contributions will be made, you need to visit the
Elections area. The
Request Transfers area only affects your current investments. If you would like your future contributions to be invested the same way for all sources, select Employer Contributions from the drop down menu. After you enter your investment elections for the employer contributions source, select Employee Contributions from the drop down menu. You may use the
Copy button to copy your elections to this source. Repeat the process for the Voluntary After-Tax source, if applicable.
Note: If you have not elected investments in the past, the default elections will display. See your Summary Plan Description for information about plan-directed investments.
How do I model a loan?
If your plan allows loans and you are eligible to take a loan at this time, then you can visit the
Model a Loan area to view the maximum and minimum amounts available, maximum and minimum term, and minimum loan increment. You will need to enter a loan amount (this is a numeric field; please don’t enter commas), either the loan duration in months or number of payments, and payment frequency. Also, you need to remember that the payment frequency must match that of your payroll. (If your payroll is weekly, then your payments must be too.)
How do I update my e-mail address?
Go to the
Update E-mail area to update (or enter for the first time) your e-mail address. NADART may offer you the alternative of receiving some types of correspondence via e-mail at a future date.
What if I make a mistake and want to cancel my transaction?
Certain transactions can be cancelled within certain, brief time frames by going to the
Pending Request area. These transactions include request transfers, loan/promissory note requests, election changes and e-mail address updates.
What security protocols are in place for PlanWeb?
In addition to encryption, which protects your information as it is transmitted over the Internet, the PlanWeb site has another security protocol that you need to be aware of. Once you have logged into the site,
if the system records no activity on your part for an extended period, you will be automatically logged off. This way, if you are working on PlanWeb and unexpectedly called away from your computer, unauthorized personnel will not be able to sit down and access your information. As an added security precaution, we recommend that you always logoff the site before leaving your computer unattended.

Other Features on the PlanWeb Login Page
There are several other features on the PlanWeb Login page:
- The Plan Resources link will take you to the Individuals & Participants area of the NADART Web site.
- The PlanWeb Help Guide link will take you to the pages you are now reading, which instruct you on how to navigate the PlanWeb site
- The Site Glossary link will bring you to a listing of definitions for terms used within the PlanWeb site
- The NADART News link will bring you to the What’s New area of the NADART Web site
-Back to Top-
Menu Options Available to Participants
Upon logging into the PlanWeb site, your menu options will be automatically adjusted to reflect: (a) what plan you are in (i.e., Investment Choice or Classic); (b) what your plan provisions are (i.e., if your plan offers loans); and (c) what your plan status is (i.e., Deferred or Installment).
These options include:
*Home page for participants in one plan.
**Home page for participants in more than one plan.
Plan Summary
After logging into the PlanWeb site, you will be taken to the home page for participants who are now (or have been) enrolled in a single plan. This page, also known as the
Plan Summary area, allows you to view:
- The amount of your total balance
- Your personal information, which includes your mailing address, date of birth, hire date, entry date, termination date and status
If you have questions about the meaning of any of the status codes (e.g., "20 - Retired and Receiving Installments), please go to the
Site Glossary.
Balances
The
Balances area displays two sets of information. First,
your balance by investment is shown in both pie chart and text chart form.
- Pie chart: Displays funds you are invested in and what percentage of your total investments that they make up
- Text chart: Shows the name of each fund, how many units you own, the total market value of these units and what percentage of your overall investments each fund represents. And by clicking on a column heading, you can sort the text chart as per that particular heading
The second part of the
Balances area shows you
balance by source, also in pie chart and text chart form.
- Pie chart: Shows percentage breakdown of your balance by each source (e.g., employee pre-tax deferrals, employer match, etc.)
- Text chart: Listing of each source, their market value amount, what percentage of your total investments they make up and your vested balance amount. Bear in mind that not all the sources displayed will be relevant to your plan. For exact definitions of these sources, please refer to the Site Glossary area. And as with the previous text chart, this chart can also be sorted by column headings
To see the current price per unit of each fund, please visit the
Fund Prices & Returns area of the NADART Web site. This area displays the current price per unit, the price at the end of the last calendar year and the difference between the two figures.
Elections
The
Elections area displays your current elections by percentage. Your elections are listed under the headings of fund name, employer contributions, employee contributions and voluntary after-tax contributions. Clicking on a column heading will sort the chart as per that heading. If you would like your future contributions to be invested the same way for all sources, select
Employer Contributions from the drop down menu. After you enter your investment elections for the employer contributions source, select
Employee Contributions from the drop down menu. You may use the
Copy button to copy your elections to this source. Repeat the process for the
Voluntary After-Tax source, if applicable.
(Please note that if you have never affirmatively elected any investments, the default elections will display.)
You also have spaces on the page that allow you to type in changes to those percentages, thus changing how future contributions will be invested in your account. Once you have entered these figures:
- Click the Continue button
- You will then see a confirmation screen. If the figures displayed are correct, click the Submit button
- If any figure need to be changed, click the Cancel button, which returns you to the main Elections page
- Also, clicking the Reset button while on the main Elections page will reset the page and all of the figures previously entered will be deleted
You also have the option to choose how your elections are allocated by more automated means. At the top of the main
Elections page is a drop-down menu that offers the following sources:
- Employer contributions
- Employee contributions
- Voluntary after-tax contributions
If you would like your future contributions to be invested the same way for all sources:
- Select Employer Contributions from the drop-down menu
- Once the page has reset itself accordingly, enter the new percentage in the box next to the appropriate fund under the Employer Contributions column
- Select Employee Contributions from the drop-down menu
- Once the page has reset itself accordingly, click the Copy button. This will automatically enter the same figures from the Employer Contributions column
- If applicable, select Voluntary After-Tax from the drop-down menu
- Once the page has reset itself accordingly, click the Copy button
When all applicable columns have been filled in, click the
Continue button and follow the rest of the steps as described for the manual entry process at the beginning of this chapter.
Please note that changing your investment elections here, in the
Elections area, does not affect the money that is already invested. It only impacts future contributions made to your account (i.e., contributions made from this day forward). To change how your current balance is invested, you will need to visit the
Request Transfers area.
Also note that since this election transaction will not be processed right away, there is a brief time frame when it can be cancelled by visiting the
Pending Request area.
Outstanding Loans
[Please note that this area will only display on the PlanWeb menu if you have a loan or loans.]
The
Outstanding Loans area displays information about your current, outstanding loans such as:
- Your loan number(s)
- Their issue date
- The next loan payment date
- The next loan payment amount
- Your loan balance
- The scheduled date when your loan will be paid off
Be aware that clicking your loan number will bring you to a screen that provides the following information about your loan:
- Issue date
- Next payment date
- Previous payment date
- Original amount
- Current balance
- Interest rate
- Payment amount
- Payment frequency
- Payoff date
- Type
- Loan request type
Be aware that if a loan payment is still being processed, the loan balance figure will
not reflect the payment. Please contact the Plan Information Center, at (800) 462-3278 or
nadart@nada.org, if you need a more precise loan balance figure.
Loan Payments
[Please note that this area will only display on the PlanWeb menu if you have a loan or loans.]
The
Loan Payments area lists all of the payments you have made towards repaying your loan or loans up until today, barring those payments that are still being processed, and includes such details as:
- Payment date
- Payment amount
- Principal amount paid
- Interest amount paid
- Remaining balance of the loan left to be paid
Model a Loan
The
Model a Loan area allows you to calculate details associated with taking out a loan against your plan account. When you enter this area, the
type of loan and
total amount available to borrow have already been determined. The amount has been calculated from the current market value of your account. (Please note that the actual amount available when a transaction is processed may change due to price fluctuations of the funds that you are invested in.)
Be aware that a one-time loan initiation fee and a quarterly maintenance fee are assessed on all loans. For more information on specific amounts, please see your plan coordinator or contact the NADART Plan Information Center. Florida residents are also charged a one-time Florida Stamp Tax fee of .35% ($.35 per $100 borrowed).
Also, please note that these fee amounts will be included with the interest in the
Finance Charge section of the Promissory Note, which will be forwarded to your plan sponsor.
To begin the loan modeling process, click the loan type listed. The next screen will list certain parameters related to your loan under the
Loan Information section such as:
- Minimum and maximum amounts available
- Minimum and maximum term (in months)
- Minimum loan amount increment
Using this information as a guide, choose and enter your loan details in the
Calculate New Loan section. First, do not use commas when entering the amounts (e.g., "20000" not "20,000"). Second, be aware that the loan amount needs to be a figure that is lower than the maximum amount figure listed under
Loan Information. Third, you need to enter the duration of the loan
or the number of payments, but not both. And finally, the payment frequency needs to match that of your payroll. (That means if your payroll is weekly, your loan payments must be as well.)
If you would then like to submit this information as a formal loan request and receive a Promissory Note from NADART:
- Click the Continue button
- Your loan parameters will appear, along with the options Cancel, Recalculate and Submit Loan Request Clicking the Cancel button will cancel your current loan modeling session
- Clicking the Recalculate button will return you to the main Model a Loan page and allow you to enter new data
- Clicking the Submit Loan Request button will submit your loan request for processing, then display a page with a confirmation number and other details about the submission process
We recommend that you print a copy of the aforementioned confirmation page for your records.
Please be aware that since these loan requests are not processed immediately, there is a brief time frame when you can cancel the request by visiting the
Pending Request area.
Withdrawals
The
Withdrawals area displays the withdrawal request types and the amounts available.
Activity Summary
The
Activity Summary area displays your account activity. Proceed to the
Enter Query Parameters section, where you can either type the start and end dates into their respective boxes or choose these dates through the respective calendar buttons. The default is for the current month, but you have the ability to display your account activity over any period of 12 months or less.
You can also select which of the investments/fund choices you want information displayed for. You can only choose one fund at a time, unless you make the selection
All Investments.
You can also select the source (employer match, after-tax voluntary, etc.). Again, you have to choose one source, unless you make the selection
All Sources. Once you’re done entering this information, click the
Submit button.
When the query results page is generated, you can get a more detailed breakdown of certain items (contributions received, earnings cash, etc.) by clicking the individual links.
You can also download your account history for a 60-day period by clicking the Download History button. While Microsoft Money will allow you to download your history as a QIF file, with Intuit Quicken you will need to use a cut-and-paste method for transferring the data. In that case, once you have downloaded the QIF file to your computer, open the file in Notepad and insert the following text to the very beginning:
- !Account
- NMy Account
- Txxxx
- ^
For “NMy Account”, substitute the exact Quicken name of the account you want to import. And for “Txxxx”, substitute with the appropriate item from the following list:
- Bank for checking or savings accounts
- CCard for credit card accounts
- Invst for investment accounts
Then save the QIF file and exit Notepad. After that, open Quicken and under File choose Import and then QIF File. When prompted, choose the QIF file you just worked on in Notepad. When the Quicken Account to Import To prompt appears, choose the name of any Cash, Asset or Liability account. (If no such account types currently exist, create one.) Then click Next.
A message should display saying Transactions Found for MyAccount. Import Transactions into MyAccount?. Then click Yes.
Please note that in using this method of data transfer for investment accounts, Quicken may not give you the option to review transactions or to match them to existing register transactions. They may all be imported as New transactions. This can be important if you manually enter transactions into those accounts before downloading real-world transactions.
Also note that on the Activity Summary page if you enter a period of longer than 60 days, the account history will download for the 60-day period from the start date forward. When importing your data into Money or Quicken, it is possible to create duplicate entries. These duplicates should be deleted. Refer to the help features within Money or Quicken to learn how.
Investment Prices
The
Investment Prices area displays:
- A list of the funds offered for investment by NADART
- Each fund’s last closing price
- The closing price previous to that
- The percentage change between the two prices
By clicking on each fund name, you will be able to access a fund description. The fund descriptions are PDF files, so you will need Adobe Reader on your computer in order to view them.
Pending Request
In the
Pending Request area, you can view transactions that are pending such as request transfers for investments, loan/promissory note requests, election changes and e-mail address updates. If your transaction is listed in this area, it has not yet been processed and can still be cancelled.
To cancel such a transaction or request:
- Go to the end of the row containing your specific transaction
- Click the Cancel link
- You will be asked to confirm cancellation of the transaction
- Clicking the Yes button will take you to a screen confirming the cancellation, which we recommend that you print out
- Clicking the No button will return to the main Pending Request page
Update E-mail
The
Update E-mail area allows you to update (or enter for the first time) the e-mail address listed under your personal information. To do so:
- Enter your new e-mail address in the space provided
- Click the Continue button
- You will be asked to confirm the information you just entered
- If the e-mail entered is incorrect, click the Back button on your browser and re-enter the address
- If the e-mail address is correct, click the Submit button
- The next screen will display a confirmation number for your e-mail update
We recommend that you print out the aforementioned confirmation page. Notice of the update will be sent to your revised e-mail address.
NADART may offer you the alternative of receiving some types of correspondence via e-mail at a future date, which is why we ask for this information.
One such type of correspondence that NADART now offers is receiving your Personal Identification Number (PIN) via e-mail. Use the Update E-mail option to enter or update your e-mail address, as NADART cannot send PIN information via e-mail without a valid e-mail address for you.
Please note that this update will not be processed right away and can be cancelled by visiting the Pending Request area.
Request Transfers
The Request Transfers area allows you to perform transfers of funds such as interfund transfers and account realignments.
When transferring funds, you should know any trades made through PlanWeb must be made before 4 p.m. Eastern Time (3 p.m. Central Time), in order to be processed at the closing price for that business day. Any trades made after 4 p.m. ET (3 p.m. CT) will be processed at the following business day’s closing price. You should make sure that you write down or print out the confirmation number of the transaction in case you need to refer to it at a later date.
If we have your e-mail address on file, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, detailing the requested changes, within two business days. To update your e-mail address, click on the Update E-mail tab. If no e-mail address is on file, we will send the confirmation letter to your home address within 3 business days. This is one important reason for employers to keep their employees addresses up to date on their payroll files.
Trades can be verified prior to receiving the confirmation letter by logging onto PlanWeb after 9 a.m. Eastern Time (8 a.m. Central Time) the day the trade is scheduled to update. Until the transfer is completed, no other transfers can be initiated. You may transfer funds in increments of one percent, totaling 100 percent.
Interfund Transfer
This option moves a specific percentage from one fund to another. To begin:
- Click the Interfund Transfer link
- On the next screen, select a "from" exchange type of investment (Employer, Employee, After-Tax Voluntary or All)
- A chart will appear in Section 1 and list the relevant investments/fund names and the amounts available with each
- Go to the end of the line for the fund you want transferred and click the circle till a dot appears. Please note that you can only transfer from the same fund one exchange type (Employer, etc.) at a time, unless you choose "All" as the exchange type
- The relevant fund name and amount will automatically display in Section 2
- Go to the line labeled Percent and fill in what percentage of that fund you would like transferred
- Click the Continue button
When the next screen, the
Specify "To" Investments page, appears:
- Fill in where you would like your "from" fund to be transferred to. This can be more that one fund
- If you make any errors, click the Reset button. All figures you’ve entered on this page will then be deleted
- If the figures entered are correct, click the Continue button
You will then be taken to a verification page, where you can cancel the process by clicking the
Cancel button or finish the process by clicking the
Submit button. If you click
Submit, you will be brought to a page containing a confirmation number and related data. We recommend that you print out this page. Also, please be aware that you still have an opportunity to cancel this transaction by visiting the
Pending Request area.
Note: You may choose to request identical interfund transfers across all exchange types (sources) on a single day by selecting All from the menu. If you choose to request different interfund transfers for the same investment within each exchange type (source), the requests can be entered on the same day.
Account Realignment
This option allows you to rebalance your entire fund portfolio. To do so:
- Click the Account Realignment link
- On the next screen, specify your new alignment by selecting an exchange type (Employer, Employee, After-Tax Voluntary or All)
- A chart will appear, displaying relevant investments/fund names, the total amount invested in each, what percentage of your account they represent and a box for entering your realignment percentage figures
- Enter your realignment percentage figures. Please note that if you choose the "All "exchange type, you can realign all of your exchange types in the same way in one day. If you realign the "Employer" exchange type differently than "Employee" or "After-Tax Voluntary", these realignments can be done on the same day
- If you make any errors, click the Reset button. All figures you’ve entered on this page will be deleted
- If the figures entered are correct, click the Continue button
You will then be taken to a verification page, where you can cancel by clicking the
Cancel button or finish the process by clicking the
Submit button. If you click
Submit, you will be brought to a page containing a confirmation number and related data. We recommend that you print out this page. Also, please be aware that you still have an opportunity to cancel this transaction by visiting the
Pending Request area.
Note: If realigning employer investments differently than employee and/or after-tax voluntary investments, these realignments can be done on the same day.
Additional Information
Please note that transfers within certain funds may be subject to the rules of the NADART
Frequent Trading Policy (pdf). If your trade violates the rules of this policy, you will receive notice of the specific trading restrictions for your account via a confirmation mailed directly to your home.
Also, please note that these transfers will only affect money currently invested in your account. Future contributions will not be affected. To change how future contributions are invested, you will need to visit the
Elections area.
View Statements
The
View Statements area allows you to view your quarterly participant statements online. They are posted as PDF files, so you will need the Adobe Reader program to view them. Upon choosing a specific statement and opening it, you can then print it or you can save it to your computer by clicking your right-hand mouse button and choosing the “Save As” option.
Each quarter’s statement is posted online shortly after the close of the quarter. You will be able to access only your four most recent statements. As each new quarter’s statement is posted, the oldest one is taken down (e.g., when the First Quarter 2008 statement goes up, the First Quarter 2007 statement comes down).
PIN Change
The
PIN Change area allows you to change your Personal Identification Number (PIN). You will need to enter your current PIN, then your new PIN. Then click the
Update PIN button. Please remember that your old PIN will only remain good for your current online session. Once you logoff the PlanWeb site, you will need to type in your new PIN on the
PlanWeb Login page in order to re-enter the site.
NADART
The
NADART area is simply a link that opens up the home page of the NADART Web site in a new browser window.
Frequent Trading
The Frequent Trading area links you to a PDF of NADART's Frequent Trading Policy, which includes a chart listing the funds covered by the policy and the ones exempt from it.
You may also want to review the NADART Investment Policy Statement. Created by the NADART Board of Directors and by our trustee, Cardinal Trust and Investments, the Statement documents investment goals and provides a framework for the investment, management and monitoring of NADART assets. It also covers: (1) appropriate transactions; (2) investment objectives; (3) general investment policy guidelines; and (4) review procedures.
Site Help Guide
The
Site Help Guide area is the same as the
PlanWeb Help Guide link on the
PlanWeb Login page. Both will take you to the pages you are now reading, which instruct you on how to navigate the PlanWeb site.
Your Account at a Glance
If you have been or are now enrolled in more than one plan, you will be taken to the
Your Account at a Glance page after logging into the PlanWeb site.
To proceed, click on any of the
Plan Number or
Plan Name links. This will take you to the
Plan Summary area for that particular plan.
Keep in mind that if you make a change to your Personal Identification Number (PIN) or e-mail address, it doesn’t matter which plan record you are in when you change it. The most recent update will carry over to all of your other PlanWeb records.
